There are three buttons where your thumb rests, two of which are quite traditional on a mouse, and one that isn't. I don't think I ever actually used this visual readout, but it is definitely nice to have on there. On the top is also a super chunky scroll-wheel and two buttons that are set to DPI increase and decrease by default, with an array of 4 LEDs on the outer left that indicates which DPI setting you're currently on. The OMRON switches feel snappy and rather nice it's also very reassuring that they are guaranteed for 20 million clicks within its 2-year warranty. This is, as is normally the case with mice, entirely dependent on you being right-handed, of course. If you are a left-handed person you won't be able to get a suitable grip on this thing, or use it adequately at all.Įrgonomically, the buttons fit perfectly under your fingers, ready to spring into action. This mouse features a thumb rest at the lower left, a pinky guard on the lower right, a silky smooth glide plate on the underbelly, and a "mode" switch on the top left which is accessible to your index finger. Once out of the box, it's quite a marvel, as it looks technical and stealthy with its Heatpipe-looking components shining through the minimalistic designs cutaways. Taking off each seal felt as though its construction would never truly ever go back together again snugly without them, and throughout I was thinking that it is as if they expect you to tear it apart and never want to re-box it in future. As a connoisseur of retaining my packaging, I found this process actually quite stressful. 4+ you are met with four, yes, count them four, clear seals holding the package together before you even get into the thing, and then you have to cleverly unfold the top of the box to be able to lift the mouse and its supportive plastic sheaths out without destroying the packaging entirely. Gripping the box in my hand I noted a very lightweight feel to the device, and weighing in at just over 90g with the USB cable, it's barely noticeable in your hand. LEFT AND RIGHT MOUSE SWITCHES: OMRON UP TO 10M CLICKS.
